Welcome to the Center for International Health and
Development (CIHD) at Boston
University. The CIHD is comprised of a multidisciplinary
team of public health specialists, clinicians, social scientists, and health
and development economists who have worked in over 30 countries around the
world. CIHD researchers have
collaborated with numerous partners (including other scientists, policy makers,
NGOs, private enterprise, UN organizations, and international donors) to
improve the health and quality of life of people in developing countries.
The objective of all of research carried out by the CIHD is
to provide our partners with empirical evidence to inform and support policies
and programs designed to improve the health of populations. In addition, the CIHD
seeks to strengthen the capacity of governments, field researchers, and
institutions at all levels to undertake applied research on health and
development.
